Construction dumping debris and nails all over neighborhood roads

There's a new custom home build on our block, and the contractors couldn't care less about cleaning up after themselves. Mud everywhere, plastic wrap blowing into trees, and worst of all—roofing nails scattered along the street edge. My second flat tire in two months thanks to their complete lack of street sweeping.

Construction projects that block sidewalk access for 2+ years without a detour

A developer buys a property, puts up plywood barricades taking up the sidewalk and bike lane, and hangs a sign that says 'Sidewalk Closed - Cross Street.' Except there’s no crosswalk for three blocks! Pedestrians are forced to walk in active traffic lanes. How do city permits allow taking over public infrastructure endlessly?
