Neighbor running a leaf blower at 7:05 AM on a Saturday morning

It's Saturday. The sun barely rose. Why is the gas-powered leaf blower roaring at full blast to chase three dry maple leaves off a driveway? Sweep them with a broom or let them sit until noon! Some of us worked 50 hours this week and just wanted one peaceful morning to sleep in.

HOA fines for 'non-approved shade of brown' on my garden shed

Got a formal violation letter in the mail today because my small back-garden tool shed is painted 'Muted Cedar' instead of the community guidelines' mandated 'Warm Taupe.' It's behind a six-foot fence! No one can see it unless they climb onto my roof! Do these people have nothing better to do than measure fence heights with calipers?

Luxury Apartments' that are just cheap vinyl flooring and gray paint

Slapping 'Luxury' on a complex building because it has quartz-patterned laminate counters, gray faux-wood vinyl flooring, and an online rent portal is a farce. The walls are paper thin—I can hear my neighbor's alarm clock vibrating on their nightstand—and the 'fitness center' consists of one broken treadmill.

Why is 'standard size' an absolute lie in home improvement?

Replacing a basic interior door sounds easy, right? 30 by 80 inches. Simple! Except my house was built in 1985, so the frame is actually 29.75 x 79.2 inches, the hinges are offset by 3/8ths of an inch, and the latch hole is a quarter inch lower. Every 'quick 30-minute fix' requires three trips to the hardware store and four hours of sanding.
